Bellator 125 Marshall vs Manhoef Main Card Preview

FRESNO, Calif. – Middleweights collide as Doug Marshall (18-7) battles Melvin Manhoef (28-11-1) in the main event at Bellator 125 in Fresno, California on Friday. The middleweight bout will be one of four main card fights on the night with another middleweight fight to go along with a heavyweight and featherweight fight.
Marshall will be fighting his sixth Bellator bout and is trying to get back to his winning ways having won his first four fights before falling to Alexander Shlemenko in the first round at Bellator 109 due to a knockout by body punch. Four of his five Bellator fights have been first round finishes while his other fight went to the judges. His opponent, Manhoef, will be making his Bellator debut in the bout.
In the other middleweight bout on the card Bellator veteran Brian Rogers (11-6) matches up with Bellator newcomer Rafael Carvalho (9-1). Rogers won his last fight in a second round knockout of Adrian Miles with a flying knee at Bellator 119. He had lost his prior two fights by unanimous decision while his opponent is making his Bellator debut fight.
Martin Stapleton (12-3) squares off with Goiti Yamauchi (17-2) in a featherweight bout as Stapleton makes his Bellator debut. Yamauchi has won three of his four Bellator fights with his last two going to the judges with mixed results, dropping the Bellator 110 unanimous decision to Will Martinez but winning the unanimous decision at the Bellator PPV over Mike Richman.
The heavyweight bout on the night will feature Javy Ayala (7-3) taking on the unbeaten Raphael Butler (8-0) as both fighters are without a loss in Bellator competition. Ayala defeated Eric Pindle by a third round doctor’s stoppage at Bellator 111 to move to 2-0 with Bellator. Butler improved to 3-0 with a first round retirement of Josh Burns at Bellator 107 before fighting Nick Rossborouh to a draw at Bellator 119.
