Bellator 127: Strauss Battles Wilcox In Featherweight Bout

TEMULCA, Calif. – daniel-straus The match-up highlights a four fight card that contains several veteran fighters trying to remain in title contention.

The event kicks off with a bantamweight feature fight between Rafael Silva (21-4) and Rob Emerson (16-10) as Silva looks to get back in the win column following a loss to Joe Warren by unanimous decision at Bellator 118. The Brazilian had won his two prior Bellator fights before the loss and will attempt to stop the two fight winning streak that Emerson has put together. Emerson defeated Joe Tiamanglo by a unanimous decision at Bellator 116.

Christian M’Pumbu (18-6) is trying to end a three fight losing streak in a middleweight feature fight against Kendall Grove (19-14). Grove has split his two fights at Bellator with a win and a loss, getting knocked out in the second round at Bellator 114 by Brett Cooper. M’Pumbu was knocked out in the first round of his last fight at Bellator 110 by Quinton Jackson.

In the welterweight feature fight Karo Parisyan (24-10) puts his two fight win streak on the line against Fernando Gonzalez (21-12) who just ended a two-fight losing streak of his own. Parisyan earned a first round stoppage against Phil Baroni at Bellator 122 and did the same to Ron Keslar in the second round at Bellator 116. Gonzalez won a unanimous decision over Karl Amousou in his last fight to snap a two-fight losing streak.

In the main event, Straus wants to return to his winning ways having lost a rematch to Pat Curran by a rear-naked choke in the fifth round of Bellator 112 after beating Curran for his fifth straight win in a unanimous decision at Bellator 106. Wilcox looks for his second two-fight win streak since joining Bellator, having defeated Jason Fischer in a unanimous decision at Bellator 114 after a first round stoppage loss to Bellator Welterweight Champion Patricio Pitbull at Bellator 108.
